HW #4- Time of Day/ Type of Light

I walked around campus on a few different days to experiment with and see how time of day and types of light affect the photo image quality. On cloudy days the sun light was much more diffused, as seen in the "urban setting" photo, the lighting seems dull and not a whole lot of contrast comes from the lighting. However this softer, more diffused light would be perfect for taking portrait pictures! The "suburban" photo was taken on a partly cloudy around noon, the contrast of darks and lights seems much more prominent than on a cloudier day. Seen in the "natural" photo, the bright and cloudless day definitely gave the plant life a boost in contrast seen in the deep shadows of the pine tree and bright highlights of it's branches.

Natural setting, late morning, sunny

Suburban setting, early noon, sunny/partly cloudy

Urban setting, later afternoon/evening, cloudy/overcast
